I'm kind of amazed there isn't already a tech podcast called THE BSD BOYS with three hosts who photoshop their heads on top of this photo (I can't make this, I don't run BSD) https://t.co/uOsVX4Pwgt

My name on Fortnite (Iā€™m egregiously terrible) has been Tight Forthole for literally years now and I canā€™t believe I havenā€™t been banned. Lol

@_StevenFan @loopholekid Yes me too, that's why I'm building it! Going to do a write up once I have it working pretty well, I will post about it when I do.

@_StevenFan

@mrled I want to understand this šŸ‘€ Cc @loopholekid

Alpine is a bit under-documented, but it's a really nice base for this because a single person can understand a lot of the ISO building scripts just by reading the code. Not the case for other livecd build methods I've tried to use. It's also hella fast.

@mrled

Got me a k3s cluster at home now. Running on my own spin of Alpine. The OS configures itself automatically at boot time and rejoins the cluster. Sick https://t.co/OIbxSHjtgp

I had an inkling it might be able to patch AppKit in Mac OS X 10.0 to re-enable the NEXTSTEP interface style after it was removed during the Developer Previews ā€” and I was right! So hereā€™s the shipping, consumer Mac OS X without Aqua turned on. Itā€™s rather broken and crashy https://t.co/gRQ1EDmRYQ

Over time, there was an initiative to make the Jawa Development Kit more accessible by opening it up. Naturally, this was called OpenJDK. Here's an artist's rendition of what that looked like https://t.co/8JJgtraWXQ

"JDK" stands for "Jawa Development Kit". Here's a photo of one https://t.co/bgHXcf8f4l

What's that quote (a tweet?) about browsing the web, realizing what you're reading was written by a human, and autogenerating a post with a link so others will find it? That's what this makes me think of.

@mrled

(When logged out the homepage does show you top starred gists, but that seems a little more excusable, and even then it's just the content, not a bunch of nag stuff.)

@mrled

When you're logged in, if you go to https://t.co/rjEpQcRgTA, it just gives you a text box to write a new gist in. It's really nice, but almost jarring. Shouldn't there be like, animated gists, gists that autoplay with sound, and popovers asking you to install the app?

There was something special about Internet cafes that is not special about cafes with internet. For instance, they provided the perfect setting for my joke

Building Ansible extensions in Python is awesome because it means your editor has 12 tabs open named main.yml and 6 more open named __init__.py

@mrled Iā€™ll never understand why DoorDash is so much worse than drive-through. Are they just intentionally fucking up orders? https://t.co/I6j1OZgmyL

@mrled

I wish I could put a sticky note over apps on my phone. Little reminders. ā€œHave you ever felt good when closing TikTok? Content? Calm? Happy? Even once?ā€ ā€œDoorDash fucked up your order the last 3 times you gave them ā€˜one more chanceā€™.ā€

@Jowjoso I donā€™t understand why the defaults are so bad. It logs like quoted JSON for some reason???? Why

i love all the services i self host, they are all so useful and shockingly easy to debug. except for traefik. this thing sucks so much. every time i touch it i break it in a new way. i regret using it so much :(

Hey Brayden can u take a look at ON-THE-ORIGIN-OF-SPECIES-BY-MEANS-OF-NATURAL-SELECTION-OR-THE-PRESERVATION-OF-FAVOURED-RACES-IN-THE-STRUGGLE-FOR-LIFE-12345? I'm supposed to finish it this sprint and I need a code review

Anyway I am having a lot of fun thinking about what this would do to Jira ticket names

@mrled

That was the 2021 Lyttle Lytton winner by the way. You could make a dark game in the vein of The Stanley Parable with a title like this (a 2021 finalist): John craved Stellaā€™s lips like an infant rhesus monkey craved cloth mother. https://t.co/aYYaOQBOs7

@mrled

Oh shit, we should name apps after Lyttle Lytton contest winners. I would definitely at least download a multiplayer beat-em-up called ā€œClang! Clang!ā€ protested the knightsā€™ swords, as they were each stopped by the metal wall of the other. https://t.co/vyY4PUkXp1

(Don't make fun of me for googling "short poem" and using the first thing I found ok)

u could also name your apps after poems, I like that. Would u rather fuck a stranger from Hinge or find the love of your life with an app called If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain;
