@ericmigi @onbeeper Oh that would be cool. I’d love to be able to scroll through separate discussions started in a channel. Could rely on starts of threads for that, or for groups that don’t thread much could rely on lulls/flurries in conversation.

@ericmigi @onbeeper Mostly I have notifications enabled bc I don’t want to miss things. Most other people in the rooms keep notifications disabled, and do miss things. My wish is for more of a gradient so there are notification options in between.

@mrled @onbeeper do you have mobile notifications enabled for these busy rooms? My initial reaction is that most people have notifications disabled, and generally will see that these busy rooms have activity when they check inbox for other reasons. Negating need for a dedicated notif for them

@ericmigi @onbeeper You can see them in one spot if you open the app, but afaik you have to choose between turning off all notifications for a channel or getting a flurry of notifications every time conversation flares up. Would be nice to get reminders to check w/o notification of each message.

@mrled @onbeeper Slack has something kinda like this right? You can see all your mentions in one spot. I guess what you're looking for here though is more of a summary, like what Google Groups used to do right?

@ericmigi @onbeeper I have wished for periodic notifications for busy rooms for a long time. Eg once or twice a day, a notification like “activity #/chatroom from user1, user2, and 8 more”. Would pair well with good threading implementation, so that conversations could be more async.

Would be neat if there were a way to register that your app needs special action on migration. Like how you have to transfer Signal to the new phone manually, and I had to reauthorize Microsoft Authenticator with my work account

Would be nice for those apps to present a screen during migration with instructions. As it is today, you have to go look at every app you have and guess which ones might need extra steps.

@Jowjoso Yeah. More important to me is not having to keep a log of my weights myself like some sort of prehistoric dad recording every fill-up in a gas logbook. (Without sacrificing privacy.)

@Jowjoso I found something called Shapa, but they started with the scale (good idea) and I can only presume realized "how do I monetize this" and came up with a subscription plan and a whole diet plan / "lifestyle" thing.

Also while I'm at it, I think the world needs something as private as Apple Health, but not tied to a divisive brand. Again, funding problem, who would spend the money to make this without being able to profit from it.

@mrled the closest thing to this that I know of is the withings ecosystem, by which I mean they absolutely report it to a cloud. there was some work to make it function with gadget Bridge iirc but last I heard that wasn't like end user ready I also want this.

Wish there was a scale, without a display, that would record weight automatically, and not report it to any online service, or show it to me, just save it to the Apple Health app silently in the background, without needing to open the app, so I could track trends over time.

The best path to an IPO is having a subscriber user base and combing through the user's data like an 80s phone phreak in the AT&T dumpsters, but that's also the best path to sending out an email beginning with "We take your privacy very seriously".
